An important update is now available in PheedLoop! Event planners will see a slight change in the Registration Category. This update is designed to reduce confusion, prepare our development team for future flexibility, and enhance the user experience.
What’s Changing?
Both the “No Ticket Category” and “Disable Group Checkout” settings will be deprecated in the Event Dashboard; they won’t be seen again.
In their place, we’re introducing a new single dropdown called Category Type with three clear options:
- Ticketed (Group) - For events allowing multiple ticket holders during registration
- Ticketed (Individual) - For events allowing only one ticket holder per registration
- No Ticket (Individual) - For registrations not utilizing tickets, this will skip the ticket selection part of the registration flow

All existing registration categories will be migrated to the new system using the following logic:

Other settings like payment settings, custom forms, whitelist/blacklist, will remain untouched.
This update will also see an exciting tweak for categories. Depending on which Category Type you choose, irrelevant information will be hidden to avoid confusion. For example, if you select “No Ticket,” the Payment section of the editor form will be hidden.
Why we’re making this change
Over the years, we have carefully examined the way our customers have been using our registration system. What we found was that registration categories were used primarily with or without tickets, and whether one or more ticket holders were allowed in a single registration.
Our previous setup accommodated this with various toggles, and while it worked, it was a complicated setup for customers to understand and remember. By combining these settings under one dropdown, we’re reducing clutter, increasing ease of understanding, and reducing the likelihood of misconfigurations.

Will this update impact my existing registration settings?
Nope, we know how much of an impact large updates can have, and we made sure to keep this in mind. Existing registration settings will still exist within the Event Dashboard. As the system is automatically migrated to the new settings, your categories will be designated based on whether the “No Ticket Category” or “Disable Group Checkout” setting is enabled for your category.
